1.6 Band
1.6 Band was an American hardcore punk band consisting of Kevin Egan (formerly of Beyond, later with The Last Crime, $24,000), Lance Jaeger (also of Beyond), Vin Novara (later with Crownhate Ruin, Canyon, Gena Rowlands Band, Alarms & Controls), and Mike Yanicelli (later with Die 116, Moses, and various Bluegrass bands in New Jersey). Early history The band was originally formed in 1989 by Jaeger, Novara, and Yanicelli in Holbrook, Long Island, New York, with an assortment of other musicians attempting a variety of music styles. Early in 1991, they began writing and recording with Egan, soon after adopting the name 1.6 Band. Following the demo recording of all new songs written with Egan, they played their first show at a backyard party in Lake Ronkonkoma, New York in July 1991. Holbrook, New York
Holbrook is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 27,195 at the 2010 census. The community borders the eastern side of Long Island MacArthur Airport. History Holbrook is believed to have derived its name from a stream which was called, in various narratives, either "Old Brook" or "Hollow Brook." The area was part of the 51,000 acre Islip Grange estate, acquired in 1697 by William Nicoll (son of Matthias Nicoll, who was the sixth mayor of New York City). It was largely a rural area until Alexander McCotter acquired 5,000 acres in the area in 1848 (after the Long Island Rail Road reached it in 1844) and platted the community. The oldest still standing building from this period is St. John's Lutheran Church, which was built in 1863. In 1875, the Nevins and Griswold cigar factory operated at the original LIRR station. Rorschach (band)
Rorschach is an American hardcore punk band from New Jersey, United States, that existed from 1989 to 1993 and again from 2009 to 2012. Their typical blend of hardcore with dissonant heavy metal elements provided an inspiration to many later hardcore and post-hardcore bands. The first release by the band, ''Remain Sedate'', shows the band's sound at a stage when they played fast, heavy hardcore with a metal slant and raspy hardcore vocals. Minutemen were an American punk rock band formed in San Pedro, California, in 1980. Composed of guitarist/vocalist D. Boon, bassist/vocalist Mike Watt, and drummer George Hurley, Minutemen recorded four albums and eight EPs before Boon's death in an automobile accident in 1985; the band broke up shortly thereafter.
