Żaneta Glanc (born 11 March 1983 in Poznań) is a female discus thrower from Poland. She finished fourth at the 2009 World Championships and second at the 2009 World Athletics Final. She won the silver medal at the 2009 Summer Universiade. She also competed at the 2008 Olympic Games The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. 2009 IAAF World Athletics Final
The 7th IAAF World Athletics Final was held at the Kaftanzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki, Greece on September 12 and September 13, 2009. The competition represented the culmination of the 2009 IAAF World Athletics Tour, a selection of athletics meetings which began on September 20, 2008 at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix. The Hellenic Amateur Athletic Association (SEGAS) won the rights to hold the event in April 2008. The competitors in each event were decided by the final standings of the 2009 World Athletics Tour. Having scored points for their performances at specified meetings throughout the season, the seven athletes with the most points in each event qualified to compete, while eleven athletes were selected for races of 1500 metres and above. The European Throwing Cup (until 2016 European Cup Winter Throwing) is an annual continental athletics competition for athletes specialising in the events of discus, javelin and hammer throwing and the shot put. The winter event, organised every March by the European Athletics Association, is intended as a counterbalance to the fact that indoor track and field meetings cannot host the longer throwing events.
