Źmicier Sidarovič
Źmicier Sidarovič ( Belarusian: Зьміцер Сідаровіч) (2 October 1965 – 17 May 2014) was a Belarusian musician, singer and piper. He was the leader of mid-1990s Belarusian band Kamiełot. Biography In 1991 he started the Kamiełot band. In 2000 Sidarovič together with bands Stary Olsa and Contredanse recorded an album ''Vir'' (released in 2001). Navahradak
Novogrudok ( be, Навагрудак, Navahrudak; lt, Naugardukas; pl, Nowogródek; russian: Новогрудок, Novogrudok; yi, נאַוואַראַדאָק, Novhardok, Navaradok) is a town in the Grodno Region, Belarus. In the Middle Ages, the city was ruled by King Mindaugas' son Vaišvilkas. The only mention of a possible Lithuanian early capital of Mindaugas in the contemporaneous sources is Voruta, whose most likely location has been identified as the Šeimyniškėliai mound or hillfort. According to the Lithuanian historian Artūras Dubonis, the claim that Mindaugas' capital was in Novogrudok is false, as they began with the unreliable 16th-century ''Bychowiec Chronicle'', whose claims were repeated a century later by Maciej Stryjkowski. "Na Takú" band (Kapela "Na Taku") ( Belarusian: Капэля "На таку́") – Belarusian band, which plays traditional music. History In 2008 singer and piper Źmicier Sidarovič started a band, which organised traditional dancing parties in café "Žar-Ptuška" ("Firebird"), Minsk, until 2011 and then in other places. After Sidarovič passed away, the band continues to exist. It tours neighbouring Eastern European countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. Name "Na taku" literally means "On the threshing floor" in Belarusian and refers to the folk tradition to arrange dance parties on the vacant threshing floor (cf. " barn dance"). Stary Olsa
Stary Olsa ( be, Стары Ольса) is a Belarusian medieval folk band, that plays medieval Ruthenian music of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The band has also released classical rock cover works in their Medieval Classic Rock where classical rock songs performed by bagpipes. Stary Olsa is one of the few Belarusian bands enjoying popularity outside Belarus. The band has received numerous positive critical reviews. They are also known for covering modern rock tracks using their medieval instruments, and released a cover album, via a Kickstarter campaign, in 2016. Belarusian ( be, беларуская мова, biełaruskaja mova, link=no, ) is an East Slavic language. It is the native language of many Belarusians and one of the two official state languages in Belarus. Vir (; it, Puntadura, Dalmatian: ''Punta de Ura'') is an island on the Croatian coast of the Adriatic Sea with an area of 22 km2. It lies in Dalmatia, north of the city of Zadar.
