Łódź–Koluszki Railway
The Łódź—Koluszki railway is a national importance railway line in Poland., connecting Łódź Fabryczna station with Koluszki station. Due to its character it is the main route for passenger trains passing through the city of Łódź. It is a crucial part of Łódź Cross-City Line. One section between Łódź Fabryczna and Gałkówek stations is exclusively used by passenger trains. History The history of the railway begins in the 19th century. The textile industry in Łódź started to bloom, yet the city had no convenient transportation routes for exporting the goods to other parts of Russian Empire. Łódź Kaliska Railway Station
Łódź Kaliska is one of the two main railway stations in the central Polish city of Łódź. It is located west of the center of the city, in the district of Polesie, and it consists of six platforms. The first complex of the station, designed by Polish architect Czesław Domaniewski, was built in 1902 in the style of Art Nouveau. Inside, there were several Art Nouveau elements, including crystal windows in doors, as well as brass fittings. The station served the Warsaw–Kalisz Railway, built between 1900 and 1902. On 28 September 1946 a major rail accident occurred at the station, in which 21 people died. In 1994, a brand new complex of the Łódź Kaliska station was completed, and has been in use since then. Koluszki
Koluszki is a town, and a major railway junction, in central Poland, in Łódź Voivodeship, about 20 km east of Łódź with a population of 12,776 (2020). The junction in Koluszki serves trains that go from Warsaw to Łódź, Wrocław, Częstochowa and Katowice. It is also connected to Radom and Lublin by an eastbound line. History Koluszki was first mentioned in 1399, when it was part of the Jagiellonian-ruled Kingdom of Poland. In the 14th and 15th century, it prospered along the trade route between Gdańsk and Ruthenia. By 1790, there was a grist mill, sawmill, brewery, and inn. Karl Wilhelm Scheibler
Karl Wilhelm Scheibler ( pl, Karol Scheibler, 1 September 1820 – 13 April 1881) was a German-born Polish industrialist, businessman and textile manufacturer. Biography Scheibler was born in Montjoie (today Monschau) in the Prussian Province of Jülich-Cleves-Berg into a family of textile fabricants. He attended school in Monschau and Krefeld and received a practical education at his uncle's Worsted, Worsted factory at Verviers (Belgium). In 1839, he worked for Société anonyme John Cockerill, a well known producer of machinery construction at that time. Warsaw–Vienna Railway
The Warsaw-Vienna Railway ( pl, Kolej Warszawsko-Wiedeńska, german: Warschau-Wiener Eisenbahn) was a railway system which operated since 1845 in Congress Poland, then part of the Russian Empire. The main component of its network was a line 327.6 km in length from Warsaw to the border station at Maczki in Sosnowiec with the Austrian Empire, and since 1867 the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Łódź Cross-City Line is an under construction railway line running through the centre of the city of Łódź, Poland, intended to connect three major railway stations of the city: Łódź Kaliska, Łódź Fabryczna, and Łódź Widzew.
