İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi GSK ( tr, İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi Gençlik ve Spor Kulübü) is the women's handball team of the same named club sponsored by the Metropolitan Municipality of İzmir in Turkey. The team are currently competing in the Turkish Super League and the Women's EHF European Cup in the 2022–23 season. Their colors are blue and white. Gonca Nahcıvanlı
Gonca Nahcıvanlı (born June 29, 1979) is a Turkish women's handballer, who plays in the Turkish Women's Handball Super League for İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi GSK, and the Turkey national team. The -tall sportswoman is line player. Club career Gonca Nahcıvanlı began her handball career in 1994 at the club Raks in her hometown İzmir. She was with Anadolu Üniversitesi SK (1997–1999 and 2003–2005), Türk Telekom SK (2000–2001), TMO SK (2002–2003), İzmir BB GSK (2008–2011) and Muratpaşa Bld. SK (2012–2013) before she returned to her hometown club İzmir BB GSK in 2013. Between 2005 and 2007, she played two seasons in Macedonia for the Skopje-based team Kometal Gjorče Petrov. Turkish Women's Handball Super League
The Turkish Women's Handball Super League ( tr, Türkiye Kadınlar Hentbol Süper Ligi) is the top professional league for Turkish women's handball clubs. It is administered by the Turkey Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Turkish champions. Established in the 1978–79 season as the Turkish Women's First League, it was renamed later to Super League. The current title holder is Muratpaşa Bld. SK (2011–12). Competition format The Turkish Women's Handball Super League shares the season style with the men's league. As of the 2011–12 season, it consists of 9 teams -one less than in previous seasons-, each playing 16 regular season games. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The Women's EHF European Cup is an annual team handball competition for women's clubs of Europe. Sevilay İmamoğlu Öcal (born Sevilay İmamoğlu October 7, 1984 in Lüleburgaz, Kırklareli Province) is a Turkish female handballer in the goalkeeper position.
