Östergötland Archipelago
The Östergötland archipelago is the collective name of three archipelagoes located to the east of the shore of Östergötland, Sweden, spanning three municipalities. It consists of 8,888 islands. It measures more than from north to south and west to east. The archipelago's northern end adjoins the bay of Bråviken and is centered on Arkösund, off the Vikbolandet peninsula and forms part of Norrköping Municipality. The central part is called Sankt Anna's archipelago and is part of Söderköping Municipality. The southernmost part is the Gryt archipelago in Valdemarsvik Municipality, and adjoins the Tjust archipelago in Småland Småland () is a historical province () in southern Sweden. Söderköping Municipality
Söderköping Municipality (''Söderköpings kommun'') is a municipality in Östergötland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Söderköping. The present municipality was created in 1971-1973 when the former ''City of Söderköping'' in two steps was amalgamated with three surrounding rural municipalities. Småland
Småland () is a historical province () in southern Sweden. Småland borders Blekinge, Scania, Halland, Västergötland, Östergötland and the island Öland in the Baltic Sea. The name Småland literally means ''Small Lands''. The Latinized form has been used in other languages. The highest point in Småland is Tomtabacken, at 377 metres (1,237 ft). In terms of total area, Småland is of a similar size as Belgium. Tjust Archipelago
Tjust () was one of the small lands of Småland, Sweden. It was divided into the hundreds of Tjust Northern Hundred and Tjust Southern Hundred. It corresponds to Västervik Municipality and the southern part of Valdemarsvik Municipality. Valdemarsvik Municipality
Valdemarsvik Municipality (''Valdemarsviks kommun'') is a municipality in Östergötland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Valdemarsvik. Valdemarsvik was originally a market town (''köping'') under the city of Söderköping. When the first local government acts came into force in Sweden in 1863 Valdemarsvik was not made a municipality of its own, but part of ''Ringarum''. It was detached from Ringarum in 1914. The municipal reform of 1971 created the present municipality by reuniting Ringarum with Valdemarsvik and also adding ''Gryt'' and a part of the dissolved ''Tjust-Ed''. The latter territory was transferred from Kalmar County. Geographically, it is notable for an archipelago and a harbour. Norrköping Municipality
Norrköping Municipality (''Norrköpings kommun'') is a municipality in Östergötland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Norrköping, with some 90,000 inhabitants. It is the largest municipality in Östergötland. By the time of the local government reform of 1971 the ''City of Norrköping'' was amalgamated with the rural municipality of ''Skärblacka'' forming a new municipality of unitary type. Vikbolandet
Vikbolandet is a large peninsula east of Norrköping city in Östergötland, Sweden. The area is limited by Bråviken to the north, Slätbaken to the south and the Baltic Sea to the east. The biggest population center is Östra Husby with a population of 868, followed by Ljunga (pop 751) and Arkösund (pop 172) (pop figures as of 2015) on the Baltic Sea coast at the far east of the peninsula.
