Édson Boaro
Édson Boaro (born July 3, 1959), best known as ÉdsonPlacar MagazinÉdson interview1990 or Édson Abobrão, is a former Brazilian football defender. In his career, he played for Ponte Preta (1978–1984), Corinthians (1984–1989), Palmeiras (1989–1992), Guarani (1992), Noroeste, Paysandu and Remo (1993), Botafogo (1994–1995) and São José do Rio Pardo (1995–1998). He won the Brazilian Silver Ball Award in 1984, one São Paulo State Championship in 1988 and one Pará State Championship in 1992. With the Brazil national football team he won at the Pan American Games in 1979, was capped 19 times between June 1983 and June 1986, and participated in the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Josimar (footballer, Born 1961)
Josimar Higino Pereira (born 19 September 1961), more commonly known as Josimar, is a Brazilian former footballer. Throughout his career, he played as a right-back, mainly with Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas and the Brazil national team. In his prime, he was named the best right-back in the world by FIFA. He is currently assistant coach at Botafogo. Career Josimar was born in Rio de Janeiro. Josimar won 16 caps with the Brazil national team, from June 1986 to November 1989. He played three times during the 1986 Football World Cup after an injury to first choice right back Édson. 1986 FIFA World Cup
The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the 13th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was played in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June 1986. The tournament was the second to feature a 24-team format. Colombia had been originally chosen to host the competition by FIFA but, largely due to economic reasons, was not able to do so, and resigned in 1982. Mexico was selected as the new host in May 1983, and became the first country to host the World Cup more than once, after previously hosting in 1970. The World Cup was won by Argentina (their second title, after winning in 1978). Bola De Ouro
The ''Bola de Ouro'' (Golden Ball) is an annual award given each year, since 1973, by Brazilian sports magazine ''Placar'' to the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro. A group of sports journalists watch every match of the competition and rate players 1 to 10 based on their performance. At the end of the season, the players with the best average rating in each position are awarded the ''Bola de Prata'' (Silver Ball), and the player with the best overall average rating is the recipient of the Bola de Ouro. The awards were first given in 1973, but since the 1970 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A the magazine had started to evaluate players. The 1971 winner, Dirceu Lopes, received the award in the 2013 edition. Since the 1975 edition Placar also started to award a Bola de Prata to the top goalscorer of the competition.
