''Let Not One Devil Cross the Bridge'' () is a 1968 Finnish anthology comedy film directed by Matti Kassila. The film is an ensemble divided into three independent stories, based on the ideas of the actual frame story, where the people who took part in the film design meeting during the get-together held at evening. The film is starring Maija Karhi, Pentti Siimes, Helge Herala and Toivo Mäkelä. Director Kassila returned to film directing after a five-year hiatus. The film was completed at a time when Finnish television had begun to take audiences away from cinemas, which is why Kassila wanted to use this film to comment on the crisis in the Finnish film industry. Matti Kassila
Matti Kassila (12 January 1924 – 13 December 2018) was a Finnish film director who achieved fame as one of the most prominent Finnish filmmakers in the 1950s and 1960s. He is most famous for the series of four Inspector Palmu movies, based on the character created by Mika Waltari. During his long career, he won seven Jussi Awards, including a concrete Jussi for lifetime achievement, and received numerous other commendations. His 1959 film ''Red Line (1959 film), Punainen viiva'' was entered into the 1st Moscow International Film Festival. He was also one of the screenwriters for the 1968 film ''Here, Beneath the North Star'', directed by Edvin Laine. Markku Pölönen
Markku Tapani Pölönen (born 16 September 1957 in Eno) is a Finnish film director, screenwriter, and editor; and the owner of film production company Suomen Filmiteollisuus. Pölönen's best known work is the 2004 film '' Dog Nail Clipper'' — written and directed by Pölönen — which was honoured in five categories at the 2005 Jussi Awards (Finland's premier film awards) including Best Direction and Best Script and which film critic Jay Weissberg from ''Variety'' called Pölönen's "most mature work to date". Markus Selin (born 16 March 1960) is a Finnish television and film producer. Career Selin was born in Vihti. His first feature, '' Born American'' (), was conceived in the mid-1980s. At a party in Los Angeles, he was introduced to fellow Finn Renny Harlin. The two collaborated on a script about three Americans vacationing in Finland who cross the border into the Soviet Union. They approached Chuck Norris to star and he initially agreed but later had to pull out after the production was delayed due to financing problems. His son Mike Norris took over the lead. Selin and Harlin funded the first part of production themselves and then shopped around with the resulting 20-minute demo reel.
