Club Deportivo Universitario (formerly Chorrillo F.C.) is a Panamanian football team playing in the Liga Panameﾃｱa de Fﾃｺtbol, the highest level of football in Panama. It is based in Penonomﾃｩ, Coclﾃｩ Province, and is the first panamanian team to play on a privately owned stadium facility. History Chorrillo FC was founded in 1974 to prevent youngsters from becoming involved in criminal activities. They won promotion to the top fight for the first time in 2001 by beating Pan de Azﾃｺcar 2窶1 in a promotion playoff. The Panama national football team ( es, Selecciﾃｳn de fﾃｺtbol de Panamﾃ｡) represents Panama in men's international football and is governed by the Panamanian Football Federation. The team represents all three FIFA, CONCACAF and the regional UNCAF. Panama qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time for the 2018 tournament in Russia and scored their first goal of the World Cup against England, although they lost the match 6窶1.
