Fraction
A fraction (from , "broken") represents a part of a whole or, more generally, any number of equal parts. When spoken in everyday English, a fraction describes how many parts of a certain size there are, for example, one-half, eight-fifths, three-quarters. A ''common'', ''vulgar'', or ''simple'' fraction (examples: and ) consists of an integer numerator, displayed above a line (or before a slash like ), and a division by zero, non-zero integer denominator, displayed below (or after) that line. If these integers are positive, then the numerator represents a number of equal parts, and the denominator indicates how many of those parts make up a unit or a whole. For example, in the fraction , the numerator 3 indicates that the fraction represents 3 equal parts, and the denominator 4 indicates that 4 parts make up a whole. The picture to the right illustrates of a cake. Fractions can be used to represent ratios and division (mathematics), division. Thus the fraction can be used to ...

Triple Metre
Triple metre (or Am. triple meter, also known as triple time) is a musical metre characterized by a ''primary'' division of 3 beats to the bar, usually indicated by 3 (simple) or 9 ( compound) in the upper figure of the time signature, with , and being the most common examples. In these signatures, beats form groups of three, establishing a triple meter feel in the music or song. The upper figure being divisible by three does not of itself indicate triple metre; for example, a time signature of usually indicates compound duple metre, and similarly usually indicates compound quadruple metre. Shown below are a simple and a compound triple drum pattern. \new Staff \new Staff Stylistic differences In popular music, the metre is most often quadruple,Schroedl, Scott (2001). ''Play Drums Today!'', p. 42. Hal Leonard. . but this does not mean that triple metre does not appear. In jazz, this and other more adventurous metres have become more common since Dave Brubeck's ...

3/4 Profile
Portrait painting is a Hierarchy of genres, genre in painting, where the intent is to represent a specific human subject. The term 'portrait painting' can also describe the actual painted portrait. Portraitists may create their work by commission, for public and private persons, or they may be inspired by admiration or affection for the subject. Portraits often serve as important state and family records, as well as remembrances. Historically, portrait paintings have primarily memorialized the rich and powerful. Over time, however, it became more common for middle-class patrons to commission portraits of their families and colleagues. Today, portrait paintings are still commissioned by governments, corporations, groups, clubs, and individuals. In addition to painting, portraits can also be made in other media such as Printmaking, prints (including etching and lithography), photography, video and digital media. It may seem obvious today that a painted portrait is intended to ach ...

3/4 Perspective
2.5D (basic pronunciation two-and-a-half dimensional) perspective refers to gameplay or movement in a video game or virtual reality environment that is restricted to a two-dimensional (2D) plane with little to no access to a third dimension in a space that otherwise ''appears'' to be three-dimensional and is often simulated and rendered in a 3D digital environment. This is related to but separate from pseudo-3D perspective (sometimes called three-quarter view when the environment is portrayed from an angled top-down perspective), which refers to 2D graphical projections and similar techniques used to cause images or scenes to simulate the appearance of being three-dimensional (3D) when in fact they are not. By contrast, games, spaces or perspectives that are simulated and rendered in 3D and used in 3D level design are said to be ''true 3D,'' and 2D rendered games made to appear as 2D without approximating a 3D image are said to be ''true 2D''. Common in video games, 2.5D proj ...

U-matic
U-matic, also known as -inch Type E Helical Scan or SMPTE E, is an analog recording videocassette format developed by Sony. First shown as a prototype in October 1969 and introduced commercially in September 1971, it was among the earliest video formats to house videotape inside a cassette, replacing the reel-to-reel systems common at the time. The format uses tape, earning it the nickname "three-quarter-inch" or simply "three-quarter," in contrast to larger open-reel formats like Type C videotape and quadruplex videotape. The name ''U-matic'' refers to the U-shaped tape path as it threads around the video drum. Unlike most cassette formats, U-matic's supply and take-up reels rotate in opposite directions during playback, fast-forward, and rewind—one clockwise, the other counterclockwise. Each cassette has an internal locking mechanism that secures the tape hubs during transport, and a spring-loaded door that protects the tape; this door automatically opens when the casse ...
