"(Du är så) Yeah Yeah Wow Wow" (meaning (You are so) Yeah Yeah Wow Wow) is a Swedish language song written and sung by the Swedish singer Martin (full name Martin Svensson) who got his big break in the 1999 edition of the Swedish Melodifestivalen. It finished in 4th place overall. The lyrics are critical of the advertising profession. Martin also made an English language version with the title of "(You Are So) Yeah Yeah Wow Wow". Despite not winning the Melodifestivalen, the song became very popular, and was released as a single on 11 March 1999. It topped the Swedish Singles Chart at for two consecutive weeks on the charts of 8 and 15 April 1999. Covers *In 2003, the group Heartquake made a cover version of the song. Martin Svensson also known as Martin (born 11 March 1978) is a Swedish singer, author and musician. Music He started as a solo artist. His debut single "Rymdraket" from his 1997 debut album ''Pojkdrömmar''. His biggest hit remains though "(Du är så) Yeah Yeah Wow Wow", a song he wrote himself and sang at Melodifestivalen 1999 in a bid to represent Sweden in the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem. Sweden was present at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999, held in Jerusalem. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1999 Melodifestivalen 1999 was the selection for the 39th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 38th time that this system of picking a song had been used. 1,315 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition, with ten songs selected to compete. The final was held in the Victoriahallen in Stockholm on 27 February 1999, presented by Anders Lundin and Vendela Kirsebom Thommesen, and was broadcast on SVT2 and Sveriges Radio's P4 network. The winner was chosen through a 50/50 jury/televoting method, which was Charlotte Nilsson with the song "Tusen och en natt", written by Gert Lengstrand and Lars Diedricsson. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Erik Robert Jimmy Jansson (born September 17, 1985) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. At Melodifestivalen 2020 he set a new record for the amount of competing entries by a composer at one contest with six entries. Music career Jansson's music career began when he formed a rock band, The Poets, with some of his friends in 2001. That same year, they were chosen to compete in Melodifestivalen with the song "What Difference Does It Make," but did not make it to the finals. In 2003 Jansson was a reality show contestant, Fame Factory, on TV3 in Sweden, who released in 2004 his first single, " Godmorgon världen," that reached No. 1 on the Swedish charts although he did not win the show.
