Slapshot (band)
Slapshot is an American hardcore punk band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band has been active for over 30 years, releasing eight studio albums and a number of singles and EPs over that time period. Though there have been constant line-up changes, founding member Jack "Choke" Kelly has remained a constant member of the band and its primary vocalist and leader. History Slapshot was formed in 1985 by Steve Risteen and Mark McKay, formerly of Terminally Ill; Jack "Choke" Kelly, formerly of Negative FX and Last Rights and Jonathan Anastas, formerly of Decadence and DYS. Due to the reputations of its members, the band had a relatively high profile even before its debut. The zine writer Mike Gitter (who was also an A&R executive) wrote "Slapshot is a great live act", before they had ever played in public. All for Nothing is a Rotterdam band consisting of five members. The music consists of punk rock, metal and hardcore influences. History The debut album ''Start At Zero'' was released in July 2004 by ''Tocado Records''. ''Start At Zero'' was written as a four-man formation. The recording took place under the direction of Patrick DeLabie in Studio 195. After positive reactions to their debut, the band performed with bands from the United States, the Netherlands and Germany, Bane, Comeback Kid, and Parkway Drive. In the autumn of 2005 frontwoman Cindy van der Heijden joined the ranks and took the lead vocals for her account. On 26 September 2006 bassist Normen Sam-Sin left the band after 6 years. Energy is an American punk rock band, from Stoughton, Massachusetts, formed in 2006. History Formation and ''Punch The Clock'' (2006-2007) In 2006, Energy - which took its name from the title of punk rock band Operation Ivy's first release, formed before independently releasing their EP ''Punch The Clock'', through Rock Vegas Records in 2007. Ten Yard Fight
Ten Yard Fight was an American straight edge, football-themed band formed in 1995 in Boston. Along with In My Eyes and Floorpunch, they spearheaded the youth crew revival in 1997. Ten Yard Fight's "official" last show was in Boston on October 17, 1999, which would become the first National Edge Day. They would later play additional shows with partial lineups. Biography Ten Yard Fight played their first show with Moreschi clad in a combination of football gear and punk rock clothing. After receiving positive feedback the band decided to become more serious. Ten Yard Fight began performing on the East Coast. Having sold 1,000 copies of their demo, Ten Yard Fight teamed up with Big Wheel Recreation to release the Hardcore Pride 7-inch in 1996. 108 is an American hardcore band founded in 1991. Their music reflects the Hare Krishna faith of the band members. History After splitting from the Zack De La Rocha-fronted band Inside Out, guitarist and Hare Krishna devotee Vraja Kishor das (aka Vic DiCara) formed 108 in 1991. While recording an EP, Rasaraja dasa (aka Rob Fish) joined on vocals. Following in the footsteps of the Cro-Mags and Antidote, they made sure to place their Krishna Consciousness at the forefront of their music. Their first records, ''Holyname'' and ''Songs of Separation'', were released on Equal Vision Records. These releases were followed by their participation in two documentary films, ''108: The Final Tour'' and '' N.Y.H.C.'' Killing Time (American Band)
Killing Time is a New York hardcore band. From their beginnings in 1988, under the name Raw Deal, they went on to record two full-length albums and several EPs, singles, and compilation tracks. The band went through three hiatuses before formally disbanding in 1998. However, the band re-formed in 2006 and has been touring/playing since. Work on their third full-length album was completed in March 2009. History Early days as Raw Deal (1989–1990) Raw Deal was formed in 1988 by Carl Porcaro, Rich McLoughlin and Anthony Drago after they split from their former band, Breakdown. Kill Your Idols is an American hardcore punk band from New York, active from 1995 through 2007 and again from 2013 to the present. They were signed to SideOneDummy Records. Their releases on SideOne were Funeral for a Feeling (2001), a split with 7 Seconds in 2004, and From Companionship to Competition (2005). Other notable releases by the band were No Gimmicks Needed and This Is Just The Beginning... which were released on Blackout! Records. The band released several 7-inch EPs, splits with other bands (including Full Speed Ahead, Fisticuffs, Voorhees, Good Riddance, and Poison Idea), multiple compilation tracks, and two full-length LPs in their 11-year run. Poison Idea
Poison Idea was an American punk rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1980. History Formation, 1980s, and 1990s Poison Idea was formed in 1980 by vocalist Jerry A. (aka Jerry Lang). The initial lineup consisted of Jerry A., Chris Tense (bass), and Henry Bogdan (later of Helmet) on drums. Jerry described this early version of the band, in which he sang and played sax, as a "kind of PIL thing" and only lasted a few shows. Jerry and Tense (now on guitar) then hooked up with Glen Estes (bass), and Dean Johnson (drums). Inspired by Black Flag and other early Southern California hardcore acts, they were further influenced by Discharge and Los Angeles's Germs. Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1996. Singer and bassist Ken Casey has been the band's only constant member.
