Alstom SA is a French multinational corporation, multinational rolling stock manufacturer operating worldwide in rail transport markets, active in the fields of passenger transportation, signalling, and locomotives, with products including the AGV (train), AGV, TGV, British Rail Class 373, Eurostar, Avelia Horizon, Avelia and New Pendolino high-speed trains, in addition to suburban, regional and metro trains, and Alstom Citadis, Citadis trams. AGV (train)
The AGV (acronym for French: ''Automotrice à grande vitesse''; lit. "high-speed railcar") is a standard gauge, high-speed, electric multiple-unit train designed and built by Alstom. Alstom offers the AGV in configurations from seven to fourteen carriages, seating 245 to 446 persons. The trains are constructed from units comprising three cars (each with one transformer and two traction electronics packages located underneath the cars) and single-car driver-trailers. The maximum commercial speed is 360 km/h. Design of the train took place through the early 2000s, with a prototype, ''"Pégase"'', produced in 2008. Italian transport company NTV ordered 25 trains in 2008 (classified as AGV 575) with services beginning in 2012. New Pendolino
The New Pendolino is a class of high-speed tilting trains built by Alstom Ferroviaria (Fiat Ferroviaria) for Trenitalia and Cisalpino. It is derived from a model developed for the Chinese operator Changchun Railway Company, and subsequently developed for other railway companies, optionally using the variable weight technology that characterizes this family of trains. Overview The name ''Pendolino'' is used to identify a family of high-speed, tilting-technology trains, produced in Italy. These trains owe their name ('' pendolino'' can mean 'small pendulum' in Italian) to the mechanism enabling them to tilt when going round a curve. Avelia Horizon
The TGV M (also known as the Avelia Horizon) is a high speed passenger train designed and produced by the French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom. It has a broadly similar design to the TGV Duplex sets, with bi-level carriages and a push-pull configuration with a power car on either end. However, it is more energy efficient and provides lower operation costs. Development of the TGV-M originated with SNCF's launch of a program to procure a new generation of high speed trains in 2015. During May 2016, the Alstom-headed ''Speedinnov'' joint venture was selected as the winning bidder for the program; on 7 September 2016, SNCF and Alstom signed an agreement to design and build the new trains. Chantiers de l'Atlantique is a shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. It is one of the world's largest shipyards, constructing a wide range of commercial, naval, and passenger ships.
